POLICE arrested 13 persons and cited 43 others in two separate weekend operations.
The first, “Operation Take Back”, was conducted between 8pm on Saturday and 4am on Sunday and resulted in 29 drivers being issued tickets for various infractions and two men being arrested.
The men, who were 28 and 26 years old, were arrested on suspicion of using obscene language and resisting arrest, respectively.
In the second operation, officers from the Eastern Division arrested 11 persons and issued tickets to 13 others.
“Operation Shadow” was conducted between the hours of 7pm on Saturday and 2am on Sunday.
Seven people were arrested in connection with outstanding warrants, two in connection with drug finds, one in reference to a causing harm case and one in reference to a stolen vehicle.
In other crime news, police in Eleuthera confiscated a shotgun and a large quantity of assorted ammunition at a property off Queens Highway.
According to police reports, around 10.35am on Sunday, officers acting on a tip went to Water Ford Dump where they uncovered the items.
No arrests were made but active police investigations continue.
