The Junior Minister of National Security, Keith Bell, has alleged that FNM operatives were seen handing out envelopes of cash during the May 7th General Election.
FNM Senator Desmond Bannister objected to the remarks. The Senate has taken a short break due to technical difficulties.

I guess this is in retaliation to when Hubert Ingraham said he got reports of plps putting money in T-Shirts. Why are the plps spending so much time trying to convince the people that the plp was the right choice. They are already in. Yes, more people voted against them. But why are they trying to convince the non supporters. Your people got you in and that is all you needed.

Don't talk about it, produce the evidence or shut up. Why the prime minister don't produce what he know? Any excuse to avoid putting the promises into effect. Non thinkers will think this is priority over getting to the job at hand. You get what you vote for, talk and more talk and still no action. Get to buying BTC, mortgage paid, put the crime plan into effect-what a joke to those who believed the mess

Guys lets go get that damn earl.

Cheaper we go get some "earl" and just wrap this beautiful country up in some "ferl" and throw this whole idea of living in paradise "on the grill" and roast it to reveal the true ugliness of the people at the helm in this place

Where's that 100 day goals' list again; trashed it because it was exactly that - might be fun to pull it out again to start a check-off. Which item number was it to "quickly accuse the FNM of vote buying before they find evidence of us doing it". I must have missed that one completely.

No wonder the criminals are running amuck in this country, the national security leaders too busy talking politics. Mr. Bell, your officers getting shot in their necks, shot in wash houses, people dying all over the streets and you talking about election bribes without presenting any facts. Is this all that you were brought in Cabinet for? GET SERIOUS!!!

I have to agree with the above comments. Whatever the FNM did in the past is just that, the past. There isn't nothing that could be said to make no one change who they are voting for cause elections as stated is gone, and gone long enough to cease this finger pointing bull. We need to get this ball rolling and just talk gets you now where. As an individual who voted PLP let me tell you now, I didn't vote to hear old time stories, I voted for a change. Story telling don't make jobs, that don't help the treasury in no way, our tourism industry isn't benefiting any and curbing crime wouldn't see no bend. Listening to stories for the past five years awarded you my vote so get to fastening those shoes and get to work..

As much as I would like to give Mr. Bell a chance to prove himself he keeps revealing that he is nothing more than a political hack.

That was like sending the red rooster to find the black rooster guilty of crowing - they're one and the same

Common practice for low level political operatives to go in to certain communities and hand out cash night before election day to certain individuals, get over it folks. Wish it wasn't the case, but hungry belly voters need to be fed; at least unlike Jamaica used to be until their most recent election it wasn't bullets. Let’s work toward reducing the number of voters in need of a cash incentive by the next one please.

New Rule in da house. No accusations without evidence or libel charges forthwith and barred from speaking. This is soooooooo typical of pandering and must stop. Bring me proof or shut the f***k up!!

“No, I don’t say that. What I say is this: we don’t buy votes. That’s what you are asking me. I said I assist people, no matter what the circumstances are and I do it every day of my life." “It’s stupid. First of all, you don’t buy votes that way. To purchase votes, let me just explain, because I’m so embarrassed at the reporters of our country actually running such a stupid story.“To buy a vote, you have to buy a voter’s card and you cannot ensure what the individual is going to do in the voter’s box and that does not make sense.
“When you buy a vote you take the person’s card so you try to avoid them from voting. That doesn’t happen and it did not happen. I made it very clear and I don’t apologize for it, I help people in my constituency and I will always help people in my constituency.“If the individual running against me does want to or cannot do it or has never done it, that’s his business. I take care of my people in my constituency and I do so every day of my life, whether they are in hospital or whether they are having some individual difficulties, whatever it might be.“I am there to serve and I assist my people. So if you want to accuse me of helping people, go ahead. But that ridiculous notion is just propaganda and it is unfortunate that the media is again allowing itself to be wrongfully used by an individual who for the most can only do talk. That’s why West End has an MP and not an MC.
“I work for people everyday, what you expect me to be, I be with the people everyday, it is stupid okay, that’s the word, it’s stupid.” http://www.bahamapundit.com/2007/05/min…
