ZYNDALL McKinney has been unanimously acquitted of the 2009 murder of Anna Garrison.

However, a Supreme Court jury was today hung on manslaughter and the case was declared a mistrial.

The prosecution asked for a retrial on manslaughter but defending attorney Murrio Ducille argued that his client stood trial on murder and was acquitted of murder.

The judge set aside a date to hear the arguments.

Mr McKinney, the boyfriend of Madison Pugh, Ms Garrison’s daughter, was charged with the murder of Ms Garrison, whose body was found wrapped in plastic and dumped on the side of the road.

The family of Mr McKinney, though slightly disappointed by the jurors’ indecision on the lesser charge, declared a victory in that the jury looked at the evidence and recognized that McKinney did not murder Anna Garrison.
