THE Nassau Chamber Ensemble will assemble at the Bahamas Historical Society to present its third concert featuring Baroque, Classical and Romantic chamber music this Sunday.
The programme which starts at 3pm, consists of works from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 “Erocia” (Excerpts), Rachmaninoff’s Prelude Op. 3 No. 2, Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G major, Paganini’s Variations on a Theme 18 & 24, and Telemann’s Allegro from Sonata No. 1 and others.
The performance will also feature Vivaldi’s Double Cello Concerto for Strings and Continuo in G minor RV 531 featuring Nassau Chamber Ensemble cellists as soloists.
The Nassau Chamber Ensemble is a 12-member string ensemble comprised of 6 violins, 2 violas, 2 cellos, 1 double bass and a harpsichord. The ensemble was co-founded by Noël Thompson and Hélène Péloquin in September 2010.
The group’s objective was to bring together like-minded musicians interested in performing beautiful instrumental chamber works. Having had two successful concerts, the ensemble is pleased to present its third concert.
Persons interested in attending the event are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. Tickets are on sale at the National Art Gallery.
