A FORMER Free National Movement minister was in a car accident last night when his car hit a tree in West Bay Street.
The smash happened at around 6pm near Westridge Shopping Plaza when former Minister of Labour Dion Foulkes' car came off the road and hit an almond tree.
Opposition and FNM party leader Dr Hubert Minnis was on the scene shortly afterwards and helped organise paramedics attending to his party colleague.
While Dr Minnis and onlookers waited for the ambulance to arrive, Mr Foulkes was reportedly in and out of consciousness.
A Princess Margaret Hospital and Oxford Medical Clinic physician was on the scene and told The Tribune of Mr Foulkes' condition after the crash.
"He was sitting in the driver's seat, unconscious, not responding to his name and so on. After a while he gradually came to, he started to become coherent. He doesn't have any external injuries or outward signs of any sort of significant trauma."
