FORMER FNM Labour Minister Dion Foulkes has been treated for minor injuries and released from hospital following a car accident Monday evening.
In a statement released yesterday, Mr Foulkes said he sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash but was released around noon from the Princess Margaret Hospital.
He said: "I thank the medical professionals of the Princess Margaret Hospital, my family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers for their care, concern and prayers."
The crash occurred around 6pm near Westridge Shopping Plaza, when Mr Foulkes' car came off the road and hit an almond tree.
Opposition and FNM party leader Dr Hubert Minnis was on the scene shortly afterwards and helped organise paramedics attending to his party colleague.
While Dr Minnis and onlookers waited for the ambulance to arrive, Mr Foulkes was reportedly in and out of consciousness.
A Princess Margaret Hospital and Oxford Medical Clinic physician was on the scene and spoke to The Tribune about Mr Foulkes' condition after the crash.
"He was sitting in the driver's seat, unconscious, not responding to his name and so on.
"After a while, he gradually came to, he started to become coherent. He doesn't have any external injuries or outward signs of any sort of significant trauma," the doctor said.
