POLICE are still unsure of the circumstances surrounding the mysterious death of an elderly man.
The 84-year-old man of Lyford Cay was found unresponsive at a construction site at the Caves, West Bay Street around 5pm Wednesday.
Officials have remained tightlipped on the exact cause of death, but The Tribune understands the man might have fallen, or been pushed from the 5th floor of a building under construction.
A source within the police force said the investigators believe the death was accidental but are exploring all avenues before an announcement is made.
In other news, two men, ages 18 and 20, are in police custody after being found in possession of a large quantity items, suspected of having been stolen.
Officers of the Eastern Division arrested the men shortly before noon on Wednesday.
Police say officers were on routine patrol in the San Souci area when they observed the men with three bags.
The men attempted to flee, however, quick response by the officers resulted in the men being arrested and the goods confiscated.
Some of the items include a laptop, video console and games, clothing and jewellery.
Active police investigations continue.
A 32-year-old man is also in police custody after being found in possession of items suspected of having been stolen, drugs and a quantity of cash, believed to have been acquired from the sale of drugs.
According to police reports shortly before 10am on Wednesday officers of the Southeastern Division executed a search warrant on a home at Petticoat Lane off Delancy Street, where they uncovered items such as laptops and cell phones.
The items and cash were confiscated.
