ARNOLD Forbes, the PLP's hopeful for the Mount Moriah constituency told The Tribune he is counting on a definite win for his party.

Mr Forbes is competing against FNM veteran politician Tommy Turnquest and the DNA's Wayne Munroe.

Admitting to some initial "jitters" as election day approached, Mr Forbes said his emotions made a 360 spin once he saw a huge turn out of PLPs to support him at the polls.

He said: "In the beginning I was really nervous about today, but coming out here has me feeling more confident than ever. I feel a win for the team and the party."

However, Tommy Turnquest, who has represented the constituency for the last five years said he is not worried in the least by the PLP's huge turnout.

"We too have a strong representation and we are very confident that in every single polling division we will win. We've done our work, we've canvassed the numbers and at the end of the day we are confident that we will win," Mr Turnquest said.

One FNM supporter, while expressing that the party will forever have her vote said she was not pleased with Mr Turnquest's "absenteeism."

She said: "We couldn't feel his presence here and you had to go to his office to see him only on Mondays."

Responding, Mr Turnquest said: "I have been pretty consistent in terms of my constituency office hours. Scores of people came every week and so over the last five years I have seen hundreds, possibly thousands of persons."

Mr Turnquest added that he also had a senior cabinet post.
