THE GOVERNMENT will not compromise on its charge to exact a "major assault" on the issues of crime and unemployment in the country despite fiscal limitations, Deputy Prime Minister Philip Brave Davis said yesterday.

Pointing to a national deficit of more than $300 million, Mr Davis said the government is still on track to implement initiatives slated to be launched within the first 100 days.

"We are concerned about what we are finding out to be the deficit to date," Mr Davis said.

"During the course of our campaign, with regard to what we were observing, we anticipated a deficit in the neighbourhood of $300 million and it's appearing now to be much more than that, which is of great concern going forward to the fiscal year 2012/2013."

Mr Davis added: "It may very well mean that the initiatives that we had planned to implement within the next fiscal period we'll have to visit them to see which of those we scale back on and which of those we place more emphasis on.

"The two areas that we will not compromise on will be crime and creating jobs, other social matters may have to take a backseat for a moment because of the deficit that we meet but crime and jobs will not be compromised."

Crime Solution: Re-Define the word 'Terrorist' to include Anyone who, through an act of criminal violence, causes or inflicts harm be it physical, mental or emotional to any person within the territory of The Bahamas, or damage to physical property, and through his/her actions has a history of recurrent, repeated offenses of similar or more eggregious actions contrary to the Law, shall be deemed a Menace and Threat to ALL civil society and therefore, through his/her own actions be known as a Terrorist and as such, will be viewed as An Enemy To The State Of The Bahamas, and will cause to be put into effect every means necessary to the Keepers of The Peace and Defenders of The Law, to rid such person, without inpedence and/or interference from existing Law, from this Land, never to be seen or spoken to again. ANY discussion be it public/private of this Law will be deemed given aid and abettment to Terrorist and will be subject to penalty by the courts.

I guarantee you, we will be a peaceful country within 6 months.

It is a nuanced way of giving License to the Police and RBDF to KILL such person--they will forever be NOT seen again. But already after doing some search, my definition is lacking: it needs to include causing death and supplying illegal weapons of destruction.

i don,t want that on my hands ,can u imagine if i shot three families sons dead ,,i would have to move to another island ..also when someone puts a gun to your head when u get out of your car theres not much chances for you to get yours ,,,especially since law abiding people are only allowed shotguns

The issue here is CRIME. I really dont care who fixes it, all that matters is that The Bahamas is restored. Let's not do the easy thing which is to blame political parties. I repeat WE NEED AN ANTI-TERRORIST LAW. And by Terrorist, I refer you to the previous post
