Teams in playoff push

Four shutout wins headlined week nine of the Bahamas Flag Football League as teams begin to push toward the playoffs in the second half of the season.

In cross divisional matchups between teams battling for the final playoff spots, the Green Parrot Hitmen (4-5) moved into sole possession of the third spot in the Atlantic division with a 14-0 win over the Warriors (2-6-1).

With the loss, the reeling Warriors fell into the fourth spot in the Coastal division after losing their sixth consecutive game.

The Atlantic division leading Heineken Spartans (8-1) returned to the win column after their first loss of the year at the hands of the Odyssey Ravens last week.

The league's highest scoring team blanked the RBC Lions (6-2-1), the team that handed the Ravens their lone loss of the season, 24-0.

The Lions remain in second place in the Coastal division behind the Ravens.

The Go Green Predators (7-2) won their third game in a row with a 20-0 shutout over the New Providence Hurricanes (3-6).

Despite the loss, the Hurricanes remain in the final playoff spot in the Coastal division with the Warriors loss to the Hitmen.

The Ravens (8-1) carried the league's longest winning streak to four games with a 21-6 win over the Pirates (2-7) who remain winless in the Coastal division.

The Bahamasair Flyers (1-8), the only winless team in the men's league headed into week nine, won their first game of the season with a 25-12 win over the Galaxy Invaders (3-6) 25-12.

In the women's league, the Heineken Lady Spartans (5-0) remained undefeated with a 18-6 win over Lynx (2-3).

The G-Fit Pink Foxes (4-1) and their high scoring offense, shutout the still winless Lady Raiders (0-5) 30-0.
