FOR the fourth consecutive year, Macedonia Baptist Warriors hoisted the 15-and-under title in the Baptist Sports Council’s 2012 Basketball League.

For the first time after coming so close, the Eagles Nest Youth Development Programme finally got to feel the thrill of being a champion.

After losing out to the Warriors for the second straight year in the 15-and-under final in a two-game sweep earlier at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex on Saturday, ENYDP came back and ensured that they got at least one crown as they turned the tables on Macedonia in the third and deciding game to snatch the 19-and-under title, celebrating with their imprinted hats and T-shirts - Eagles Nest champions.

While it was a bitter-sweet victory for the two teams, the BSC will try to complete the men's championship this week.

Already in is last year's runners-up Hope Centre, who swept aside B pennant winners St Mark's Native Baptist. They will await tonight’s winner of the series between defending champions Temple Fellowship and A pennant winners Macedonia Warriors.

The championship is expected to be completed on Thursday night.
