BTC unions have overrun their head office on JFK drive, according to sources inside the building.
At last report the fire alarm had been set off to get everyone out of the building.
Union heads are protesting what they perceive to be the unfounded firing of the Vice President of the Bahamas Communications and Public Managers Union (BCPMU).

Given the cooperation that they are getting from their partners(the Bahamanian Government), if someone would like to give them their money back PLUS the millions invested in the new system, I am sure that they would be quite pleased to leave this mess. Then the government will have to get expats in to show them how to run the new systems! That makes sense!

C&W has invested NO NEW MONEY in BTC...the profits from prepaid cards and top up sales can cover the costs of any upgrades they did..and maybe C&W needs to bring in a different set of 'expats' to show them how to run the "new systems" they installed because after over a year of disrupted phone service, they still cant seem to get it right! Did You recieve one of their texts telling you they will turn your account over to a collection agency in 7 daysif you dont pay and your account was already paid up?

This is a sad story, very sad for Bahamians...because when Cable and Wireless first came in to the Bahamas, the first thing they did was reduce the profits (for thousands of Bahamians) who were selling phone cards and eventually Top Up)..It was the same Tellis and Marlon Johnson's and Currys wHo now fightig for the job of their co-worker who stood up and backed Cable And WreCKless who said it was ok for Bahamians (aka the N word aka negroes)to stand in the sun and the cold and in the rain and to sell BTC/C&w phonecards for 5% profit while they took back 90 percent gross on every product they sold and took and are still taking51% of every profit dollar out of this (Bahamas ) country. Now thAt they realize that C&w HOGGISHH AND DEVILISH WAYS STAND TO PUT THEIR OWN JOBS AT RISK i SAY STAND UP LIKE U STOOD UP AGAINST YOUR WHOLESALERS AND RETAILERS AND TAKE Y O U R PUNISHMENT!!! c&w WILL ELIMINATE EACH EVERY BAHAMAIN AND TAKE US BACK INTO SLAVERY ...T HEY GIVIN US 4 G FOR( 5 GRANd WHEN IT SHOULD MUCH COST LESS ) AND WE STANDING HERE GRINNING LIKE THE PORCH MONKEY THEY EXPECT US TO BE... WHERE IS HUBERT INGRAHAM IN ALL THIS?? OR PERRY CHRISTIE??..SOMEBODY.. ANY BODY SHOULD BE SCREAMMING!!

dude your some kinda racist ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,under btc the phone cards were flying out the back door faster then they could print them ,,,and you and i were payin at forty cents a minute ,,why do u feel so insecure about other nationalities ,,if it was up to you ,you would ban all visitors and we could eat each other ,,my my what a loud ,xenophobic ,little man you are ..Bahamians with self esteem don,t fear everyone and run around screaming at the top of their lungs ,,,I,M A BAHAMIAN,LOOK AT ME ,DO YOU HEAR ME ,,,LMAO
John 12 years, 1 month ago
ANd now BTC's money is flying out the front door..faster than they can make it paying consultants $17,000 per month plus car and penthouse..no work permit no legal entry into the country to work....being oatriotic is far from being racist, having xenophobia or being little..in fact concern citizen sound like another illegl; foriegner trying to steal the riches of the bahamas, the few blessings we have...

This is a sad day for Bahamians not because of the issues of Cable & Wireless but because of our inability (as citizens) to move on from our sense of entitlement. As I read the comments posted all I see are emotional irrational responses. Instead of encouraging disruptive behavior, the unions should focus on preparing Bahamians to compete in the new workforce.

Well said !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To stand up and fight for your rights is not being disruptive...if a foreign company is trampling on your rights..its being patriotic.
Stameko 12 years, 1 month ago
No company, Bahamian or foreign would tolerate the behavior of this woman and the blatant conflict of interest in her position
John 12 years, 1 month ago
C&W plan is simple to load the company with foreigners and remove Bahamians from key positions. They are bringing illegal persons in and out this country faster thana streetwalker on Friday night. They want to wrestle the books away from the eyesight of Bahamians..they want to gobble all the profits before the competition comes, then do a 360 on the government and Bahamian people..jus watch
