Staying in faith

FOR a Christian to ever overcome tests, trials and tribulations like Jesus did, they must be faithful in their faith. In the midst of situations that may seem impossible, a Christian’s stance on the word of God must never waver.

It is important for a believer to continue in faith, no matter how bleak a situation may seem. It is only this unmovable and unshakeable faith that will stand up against trials and will bring forth victory. “What happens a lot of the times is that Christians are faced with a difficult situation, and they worry about the outcome. Some Christians look at things in the natural world and instead of living by the things they cannot see. But that is not the way a Christian should operate. The name of the lord is a strong tower and when you, a Christian, has faith in him, he can work,” said international televangelist Creflo Dollar.

He explained that one of the things can help Christians maintain faith is understanding the tri-part make up of a man. He said when the word of God is deposited into the spirit, it will eventually bare fruit.

“One of the keys to maintaining strong faith in the midst of afflictions and tough circumstances is to continually confess God’s Word. Confession of the Word not only releases the power of God into the situation, but it builds faith into your heart, which enables you to weather the storms of life. Man is a tri-part being—he is a spirit who possesses a soul, and lives in a physical body. The spirit of man is where faith resides and from which faith proceeds. When you confess God’s word, you hear yourself saying the scriptures and the faith of God is deposited in your spirit. The word, when planted in your heart like seed in soil, will produce results.”

Daniel Oliver who was recently born-again, fully comprehends and believes that man is a spirit being and his heart is the planting ground for the word of God. She said this knowledge about how the kingdom of God works is what has kept her faithful to her faith.

“I believe everything the words says. Nothing will make me change my mind. I remember one time ago, when I first got in the word the I had faith, but I did not have it for a long time. Any-time I did not see what God promised come to pass I would give up. But it was this same giving up that did not allow get my needs met. I just was not faithful at the time. Now I made up in my mind that nothing is going to stop my faith,” she told Tribune Religion.

Tamia, a baptist follower said it was only because of her faith she made it out turmoil. During her time of tribulation she confessed the word of God, day in and day out, and reaped the benefit of those actions.

“My faith is the only thing that kept me going through my tough times. If I do not keep the faith then I will never see the promises that God has in store for my life. You cannot expect to get anything from God if you do not believe because that is the thing that pleases him. When a person is born again they obtain their salvation by grace through faith. So that same faith that saved a person is the same faith that will make see what God has for them,” she said.
