A SUPREME Court jury is expected to hand down its verdict today in the trial of a man accused of stabbing and killing another man who was on his way to the laundromat.
After Justice Roy Jones summarises the evidence presented in the week-long trial, the jurors will be excused to deliberate on whether 38-year-old Hilfrant Joseph murdered Christopher Butler of Hawkins Hill.
Joseph, of Millers Heights, faces a charge of murder, which he denies.
It is claimed that on December 6, 2002, he stabbed Butler in the back.
The incident happened around 7pm as Butler made his way to the laundromat on Eighth Terrace.
The prosecution closed its case in the trial on Monday after calling its last witness.
The defendant, represented by attorney Terrel Butler, opted to remain silent, choosing to rely on the evidence produced in the trial.
Justice Jones begins his summation of the trial evidence at 10am.
