IN celebrating youth month, the Gift Factory in conjunction with the Ministry of Youth is hosting a gala production, “One Night with the King”.
The festivities will begin Friday at the National Centre for the Performing Arts.
According to members of the organisation, the targeted audience for the event will be junior and senior high school students, along with their teachers and parents. This formal event is planned to encourage Bahamian children, socially and morally.
The performance will be held under the patronage of the Dr Daniel Johnson, Minister for Youth Sports and Culture. Norma Pinder, programme Coordinator, said the aim is to partner with schools to bring a dynamic, awe-inspiring, productions to the youth of the nation.
She said the production “One Night with the King” is targeted at changing the mindset of young men and women and inspiring them to live a life of high standards.
The Gift Factory is an outreach programme of The Christian Discipleship Ministries International (CDMI). The programme was developed to encourage the youth in the church and the wider community to explore and celebrate their unique gifts and talents. In so doing the organisation hopes to strike confidence and hope in the hearts of the youth.
“We at CDMI are blown away by the content and quality of this production. We see the need to bring this positive message to our nation’s youth. It is therefore our desire to host this production at the National Centre for the Performing Arts and invite students as well as the public to experience this event,” said Ms Pinder.
The event will serve as a fund raiser to further the work The Gift Factory. Ms Pinder, as well as members of CDMI reached out and visited schools, inviting students to attend the upcoming event.
The organisation plans to donate a monetary gift, $1 dollar from each ticket sold, to the music or drama department of the secondary school that garners the greatest support.
