A FORMER teacher accused of indecently assaulting a female student on a Family Island was acquitted in Magistrate’s Court.
St Vincent and the Grenadines native, 58-year-old Gonzalo Caine, was found not guilty before Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis.
The former Physical Education teacher at the Inagua All-Age school was accused of indecently assaulting a 14-year-old student on January 20, 2011.
Caine, a resident of Russell Street, Matthew Town at the time, denied the allegation and pleaded not guilty.
Despite protests from the prosecution at the time, Caine was granted $8,000 bail and was told that he had to surrender his travel documents.
Nearly two years after his arraignment, the case came to a conclusion in his favour.
Caine was represented by attorney Roger Minnis.
