THE HOLIDAY season has arrived, with just under four weeks before Christmas rolls around. Bahamians are feeling in the spirit at this time to eat, drink and be merry at home, in the office and out on the town.

Christina Johnson said she promised herself she was not going to party as much this year as she did last, but with all the events planned for the holidays, her personal pledge is looking shaky.

Another holiday lovers said: “This is my favourite time of year, not just for the gifts and the warm bubbly feeling all around, but for the time I get to spend at the awesome parties with my friends.

I think people save their best celebrations for this time of year and I am not going to miss it.”
Starting as early as next weekend, the scene will be filled with art festivals, chorale concerts and parties, like the highly anticipated “Black Out”. Tribune Entertainment gathered a list of Christmas ideas to keep you engaged this holiday season.

“We are going back to a time when Bahamians looked forward to the weekend experience of musicians like Ezra Hepburn, Wendal Stuart , Smokey 007, Leon Taylor and the Roosters, Piccolo The Preacher Man, Tony Seymour, Swain, Richie Delamore and Sonnie Johnson. It was a time of the Hully Gully, the Cha Cha, Mash Potato, Splits, Twist, Robot, which give way to the Electric Slide and the Macarena,” says Mrs. Mortimer.
