POLICE last night discovered the partially decomposed body of a missing man after a suspect in their custody told officers where he had dumped the body.
Investigators found the victim, whom they believe had been there for about a week, in bushes near an unfinished home off Marshall Road.
Assistant Superintendent Solomon Cash said police had been searching for the man since last week. “Sometime on the 17th of this month,” he said, “the police had an investigation of a missing person. I can say tonight that the status of that investigation has changed to a homicide investigation.
“Around mid-day today, police on patrol arrested a 32-year-old male who was the subject assisting police with the missing person inquiry.
“Later in the evening police interviewed this individual who directed the officers here to this location where we discovered the partly decomposed body of a male who was lying in the bush here at the scene.”
An unlicensed firearm was also confiscated from the man once he was arrested.
Officials were not prepared to release more information. This latest discovery pushes the murder count to 102, according to The Tribune’s records.
Police are urging members of the public to come forward with any information they might have to further assist with this matter.
