IN three separate incidents of violence this weekend, one man is dead, another shot in his leg, and a third stabbed in his chest and fighting for his life in hospital.
A local Carmichael Road pizzeria was also robbed by a masked man reportedly armed with a gun.
According to police reports, a 23-year-old man of Bowe Avenue in Montel Heights became the country’s latest murder victim after he was shot early yesterday morning.
The victim was standing in front of his home around 12.30am when a car pulled up and opened fire. The victim was shot multiple times.
He was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.
Although police did not identify the victim to the press, The Tribune understands he is Keith Armbrister.
According to sources, Mr Armbrister, who was approached by a dark man, was shot several times in his thigh, and groin.
He was pronounced brain dead at the hospital.
Police are currently investigating and are appealing to members of the public to give them whatever information they might have about the incident.
Also early Sunday morning, a 35-year-old man was stabbed in his chest at a Long Island nightclub.
Shortly before 2am, the victim got into an argument with another man at the club when he was stabbed in his chest.
He was taken to the local clinic before being airlifted to New Providence where he is detained in serious condition.
Active police investigations into the matter continue.
Also under police investigation is a Saturday night shooting that left a man in hospital.
The 30-year-old victim was at Matthew Street in Nassau Village around 8.30pm when he got into an argument with another man and was subsequently shot in his leg.
Police say they are following “significant” leads into the matter.
Early Saturday morning, Marco’s Pizza in the Southwest Plaza on Carmichael Road was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash by a masked man.
Shortly before 8am, an employee arriving at the business was approached by a masked man, armed with a handgun. He demanded cash.
The gunman reportedly forced the employee into the business where he robbed Marco’s Pizza of cash before fleeing in a waiting black car, thought to be a Honda.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
In another matter, officers recovered a vehicle that was reported stolen.
On Friday around 10:30pm, Northeastern Division officers, acting on information, went to Murphyville Road off Rosetta Street where they discovered the white 2001 Honda Stream.
No arrest was made and investigations continue.
Mobile Division officers also confiscated over 15 rounds of ammunition from a Lincoln Boulevard property, on Sunday.
Officers were on routine patrol in the area shortly before 2am when they observed a group of males acting suspiciously.
Upon seeing the officers, the men fled and evaded police.
In a subsequent search of the area, officers discovered the ammunition.
