THE WAIT is almost over. Collage Entertainment has produced yet another highly anticipated comedy film, and it is not your usual YouTube video. This time the collective is heading straight to the big screen with the release of “Get Charlie”.

The comedic tale “Get Charlie” is a typical boy meets girl story told through the eyes of a “joneser” by the name of Chris.

According to Collage Entertainment, the film will have audience members asking questions such as: How far will a man go in the name of love? and What is the community’s role in raising a child? Someone has to “Get Charlie” before he destroys himself.
Bahamians have been sounding off on Facebook ever since the group announced the imminent release of the film. The group is well known for its viral video sensation

“Stop Likin Man”, and has become a trend setter when it comes to Internet videos.
Tyrone Burrows, director and screen Writer of Collage Entertainment told Tribune Entertainment that Collage has grown tremendously since its very first popular Internet video “Stop Likin Man.”

“Pressure and high expectations causes you to grow and we have grown, unlike many other entities. We didn’t have a lot of time to do so, but we had to, tremendously, in a very short period of time. What was just a small group of film makers and actors had to become a fully functional and consistently productive company and production team over night. We had no choice but to produce or fade away,” said Mr Burrows.

When asked how does it feel to expand from home made videos to movies, Mr Burrows said “believe it or not” Collage actually started producing short films years before they entered the viral video scene.

“The fans who know of those roots know that we are actually much more than “Stop Likin Man”. So to some degree it is not entirely new to us, but this level of expectation is. This is new; this is a challenge,” said Mr Burrows.

He said the standard that the group is known for will shine brightly. Expect loads of Bahamian humour, high production quality, a story that does not insult your intelligence and an all around great time that the entire family can enjoy, he said.

Some fans are eager to view the new material; one follower said: “I am so happy they are bringing out something new. I can watch one of their videos on any day and laugh my eyes out.”
Mr Burrows said the team faced many internal delays with their new material due to the lack of funding and other issues. He said they all wanted to ensure that their fans got the best movie possible with the resources available.

“Funding allows projects to move a lot smoother and it speeds up the process tremendously. With that said, we of course welcome sponsors with open arms,” said Mr Burrows.

Get Charlie will unofficially premiere on November 1 at the Centre of the Performing Arts. Collage is also aiming to eventually have it screened at Galleria Cinemas at a later date.

“All of our fans want to see Get Charlie contending with the other full length premiere’s at the movie theatre. Here’s to hoping that can be a reality in the very near future and we can give the fans exactly what they want,” said Mr Burrows.
