FREEPORT – Armed robbers have struck two web shops in one day here on Grand Bahama, robbing the establishments of an undetermined amount of cash.
Police investigations are continuing into the armed robbery incidents that occurred at Island Luck on Balao Road and at Mega Hits in Pioneer’s Loop.
Inspector Terecita Pinder, press liaison officer, reported that police received a report shortly after 9pm of an armed robbery at a business establishment in the Balao Road area.
According to reports, two men armed with a handgun had entered the establishment around 8.30pm and demanded cash. They fled with undetermined amount of cash.
One suspect was wearing a maroon-coloured shirt. He was described as being slim with light brown complexion and about 140lbs. The second suspect was described as being tall and slim.
Earlier in the day, employees at Mega Hits in Pioneer’s Loop were held up and robbed by a gunman.
According to reports, the culprit entered the establishment shortly after 12 noon and demanded cash.
The suspect was armed with handgun. He was wearing a brown-coloured tam and jacket and cargo short pants.
Ms Pinder said police are continuing their investigations into the both incidents.
They are appealing to anyone with information that can assist the police to call 350-3107, 350-3108, 911, 919, or the nearest police station.
FIREARM ARREST IN ABACO
Three men were arrested on Abaco on Tuesday after a firearm and dangerous drugs were discovered at a residence on Forrest Drive.
Inspector Pinder reported that officers executed a search warrant around 5.45pm on an apartment, where a black and silver Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol was discovered.
A small quantity of suspected marijuana was also discovered. The occupants of the apartment were taken into police custody.
Investigations are continuing into the matter.
