A MAN was arraigned in Magistrate’s Court yesterday in connection with the country’s 87th homicide of the year.
Gregory Taylor, 21, of Podoleo Street, appeared before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez facing a charge of murder.
It is claimed that on Saturday September 29, he intentionally caused the death of 23-year-old Keith Armbrister.
Armbrister, of Bowe Avenue in Montel Heights, was standing in front of his home around 12.30am when a car pulled up and someone opened fire. The victim was shot multiple times.
He was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries. Taylor was not required to enter a plea to the charge due to its nature and was told that his case would be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court for trial through a Voluntary Bill of Indictment.
The VBI presentation was set for February 27, 2013.
Taylor was remanded to prison without bail as he ineligible to receive a bond from the lower court due to the nature of the charge.
He was represented by attorney Mark Symonette-Rolle at yesterday’s arraignment.
