WHAT do you do when your acts of love towards a romantic partner are returned with nonchalance and neglect? Do you do all that you can to make them love you or make them care? Raquel Oliver has the answer in her latest music video “Can’t Make You Love Me”. She says in no uncertain terms, move on.

The new single which is featured on the Summer Bubble Riddim was produced by Jason Farmer of J-Vibes Production, together with his co executive producer Preston Kyle Stuart of Cyclone Entertainment. Her intent is to motivate women to get themselves out of hurtful love relationships where their feelings are not being appreciated or respected.

In the video Raquel does everything to please her boyfriend. However, he repays her efforts with criticism. He constantly bickers and makes excuses for his negligent attitude and no matter how hard she tries to get his attention she never seems to impress or please him.

“Finally the young lady gets fed up and comes to the realization that the man she loves simply does not care about her so she decides to break away and move on with her life,” Raquel said.

“This is for the women and I want to motivate them to get out of hurtful situations where they are wholeheartedly seeking love in their relationships and the other partner portrays a don’t care attitude towards them as though their feelings should not be acknowledged or respected. I personally feel that in every relationship, we as individuals deserve love, respect and to be cherished by those who claim to love us. However, we cannot force ourselves upon people and expect them to love us if they simply don’t.As the song clearly states, ‘I can’t make you love me if you don’t’. You can’t make your heart feel something that it won’t.’ Some of us need to get the picture and just move on,” she said.

Like her other songs, Raquel said this one has especially shown how much she has matured as an artist. She said she always seeks to present messages she knows listeners can relate to.

“What is most special about the song is simply me embarking on another journey in my life. Being able to continue advocating for the hurting women in my country and around the world through my music,” she told In Ya Ear.

“Can’t Make You Love Me” is expected to be featured on Raquel’s upcoming album. She said fans have been waiting a long time for an album and she will deliver. The artist has not determined yet a title or a released date. However, she anticipates a release early next year.

“My songs will exhibit that I have grown in my music. You will hear that I have matured and that I am indeed getting stronger and wiser as I venture out on my musical journey. Fans can expect to see more from me on the big screens as my new official video for this single has recently been approved to be featured on Tempo Networks.”

Raquel’s management team is also reaching out to a few international artists for collaborations. In the meantime, she is working on several projects with local and international producers including Mr Ching “Da Dappa Don” of Uprising Records International, Ramont “Monty G” Greene and Ronald Cash a.k.a. Frost of Lion of Judah Music Group, Dillion “D-Mac” McKenzie of D-Mac Productions and the entire Rat Pack Squad.
