A JUVENILE was remanded to prison without bail yesterday after being charged in connection with the murder of a 55-year-old man who was found dead next to a bloody rock in a lot off Wulff Road.
The 17-year-old of Kenwood Street, whose name is being withheld due to legal reasons, appeared before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez facing a murder charge.
It is claimed that between October 19 and October 21, he intentionally caused the death of 55-year-old Howard Gregory Sands.
Sands, of Dean Granger, was found unresponsive next to a blood-stained rock in a lot on Kenwood Street with injuries to the face.
It is believed he was bludgeoned.
The minor was not required to enter a plea to the charge due to its nature and his case will be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court.
The accused was also told that he was not be eligible for bail as the court did not have the jurisdiction to consider a bond on the charge.
He returns to magistrates’ court on January 11, 2013.
He was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison until the completion of his trial.
