According to police reports, yesterday around 2am a man was driving a black Honda Accord on Sir Milo Butler Highway in the area of Faith Avenue when he was approached by three men in a white Honda Accord.
Police say one of the car’s occupants pulled out a handgun and was subsequently shot.
He was taken to hospital where he is detained in stable condition in police custody.
Police have in custody three men ages 26, 19, and 17 in connection with the incident and investigations continue.
Another early morning incident under investigation involved a 20-year-old man who is in hospital after being stabbed yesterday.
Shortly after midnight, the Chippingham resident was at Christie Park when he was approached by a group of men and stabbed.
The victim was taken to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.
Police also offer the public a crime tip. If confronted by an armed robber, police say, “stay calm and do exactly as you are told.”
Do not resist, try to get a good description of the culprit and the method used for escape, and call police.
