FOUR games into the tournament, Team Bahamas finally got in the win column of the VIII Pan American Men’s Softball Championship.
The Bahamas improved to 1-3 in the tournament with a win over Ecuador in the second half of a double header yesterday in Medellin, Colombia.
In game one, the Bahamas fell to Canada 5-0 to remain undefeated in the tournament.
The Bahamas only managed to get two base runners the entire game with a hit in the second inning and a hit by pitch in the sixth.
Guatemala and Ecuador also went winless on day one, but the Bahamas was the only team to rebound and claim a win in week two.
After an 8-3 loss to the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas fell 9-0 to Venezuela last night.
The Tribune was unable to reach the team for comments up to press time last night.
The nine-day fast pitch tournament is being contested by Argentina, Bahamas, Canada, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela.
The defending Pan American men’s champion is Venezuela, which defeated Canada in an extra inning in the gold medal game of the last edition of this tournament in Mexico.
