A 45-year-old man became the country’s latest murder victim when he was gunned down early Saturday morning.
It happened around 2am in the area of Peach Street and Montrose Avenue.

Police say they received an anonymous call that a Caucasian male was shot and lying in the street near a basketball park.
When they arrived on the scene, they found the man dressed in a black hooded jacket with blue jeans. He was shot in the chest and was lying face down near his Ford F 150.
Emergency service personnel were called to the scene and pronounced him dead. Police have not yet officially identified the victim but The Tribune understands he is Scott Roberts of Blair Estates.
He became the country’s 25th murder victim.
Police are uncertain of the circumstances surrounding this incident and are appealing to members of the public who may have information to contact them at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS.
Police are also requesting the public’s help in locating five men responsible for a shooting incident that left a 37-year-old man in hospital.
It happened around 11:50pm on Sunday.
According to reports, the victim was at Potters Cay Dock with a woman relative, when her jewellery was snatched by one of the men.
A struggle followed between the suspects and the victim, which resulted in the victim being shot.
He was taken to hospital in a private vehicle. His condition is unknown at this time.
Investigations continue.
Police are also questioning a 27-year-old man in connection with a shooting incident that left a man in hospital.
It happened around 9:30 pm on Saturday.
Police say the victim was at Dean’s Lane when he was approached and subsequently shot by a male known to him.
The victim was taken to hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
