The Fireman lights a fire of enthusiasm in schools

CHRIS ‘The Fireman’ Brown is doing the rounds and making his presence felt in Bahamian schools.

This, the track star said, is his real passion – as he believes it’s important for an Olympian to set a good example for the youth.

His message to the children is: “Keep God first, practice balance in everything you do, listen to your parents and teachers.”

Chris Brown has been home in the Bahamas for the past several months promoting his upcoming elite meet – the Islands of the Bahamas Chris Brown Bahamas Invitational.

The event will be held on Saturday, April 13, and it will be history in the making, he said.

The Chris Brown Bahamas Invitational will bring Olympians such as Veronica Campbell-Brown, Kellie Wells, Kirani James, Trevor Barry, and Golden Knights Demetrius Pinder, Michael Matthieu, Ramon Miller to compete in the inaugural event.

It will be held at the Thomas Robinson National Stadium. Title sponsor the Ministry of Tourism and presenting sponsor BTC are excited about the prospects of bringing attention to the Bahamas through the world class event.

Around 100 athletes are expected to compete.

Chris Brown told a press conference his fellow athletes are excited to compete in the Bahamas. He said he is receiving calls every day from athlete representatives and coaches who want to participate.

The Chris Brown Bahamas Invitational (CBBI) will be an IAAF sanctioned meet and is expected to attract the attention and attendance of the international press, organisers say.
