Abundant Life Church celebrated a Passover Seder with over 200 people in attendance on Thursday, March 28. Co-Pastor Cranston Knowles has always had a love for Israel and the Jewish people. After he graduated from bible school, he spent time on a Kibbutz in Israel which only magnified his love for the Jewish people. He has been sharing with his church about Israel in end-time prophecy and recently took the church on a trip to Israel. Because of their hunger, he decided that this was the year to hold a Passover Seder (meal and teaching about Passover).
Pastor Knowles recently met Messianic Rabbis Harlon and Joyce Picker from Congregation Beit Chayim in Nassau and knew that this was the time to introduce his church to the Messiah in Passover. After planning and discussing his ideas with the rabbis, he decided to have a Messianic Passover Seder at Abundant Life.
Those in attendance loved the interaction with the visiting religious group. They enjoyed seeing where the sacrament of the lord’s supper comes from in the Passover. Senior Pastor Emeritus Rev. Dr. F. Edward Allen told Rabbi Harlon Picker that “he enjoyed learning all about the Passover from a Messianic Jewish perspective.” He said that “there was quite a lot of information to be gleaned seeing this from Jewish eyes. Especially eyes that recognise that Jesus is the Messiah of Israel.” Pastor Knowles will be meeting with the Rabbis on a regular basis and discussing what else can be done to bring the Body of Christ together and to discover the church’s Jewish roots.
“God has a heart for unity in his body,” he said.
The next community event being planned by the Assemblies of God in the Bahamas, the organisation that the Rabbis work with, is the 65th Anniversary of Israel Celebration. The Jewish community is expected to come together to bless Israel and the Jewish people at Evangelistic Temple on April 15, hosted by Rev.
Dr. Vaughan Cash, senior pastor. The event is open to Jews, non-Jews and everyone who wants to bless Israel and the Jewish people. For more information on this or other upcoming events, visit www.ShalomNassau.com or call (242) 427-0703.
