AMERICA decided that Lazaro Arbos’ time was over. He was voted off American Idol last Thursday. Since the top 10 was chosen, all of the male contestants were sent home week after week. A women have yet to be sent home from the top spot.
When faced with using their one save of the season, judges Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson all refused.
My guess is, they are waiting for the time when one of the girls are faced with the challenge of receiving the lowest votes. This week would be the perfect week for the judges to have in the back of their minds that they may have to use that save they are holding so dearly.
One Bahamian viewer told Tribune Entertainment: “Lazaro is a good singer but his time on the show had clearly come to an end weeks ago. The girls are in the lead and they are not playing around this season.”
Another viewer said: “The guys this season were not ready for this batch of ladies the show got this season. I can’t even predict the winner amongst these girls because they are all capable of winning.”
So now we can be sure that the next American Idol will be a female winner for the first time since 2007.
Tonight the top five women will perform two songs. It has been rumoured that viewers can also look forward to a performance by former American Idol winner, Fantasia Barrino.
