Police have just confirmed that a man shot last night was the leader of the 'fire and theft' gang, Julian 'Heads' Collie.

Reports came in late last night of a man being shot dead in Nassau.

The shooting reportedly took place in the Miller’s Heights area.

Few details were available at the time that The Tribune went to press.

Police confirmed that one shooting had taken place, with multiple shots fired. There were reports a second man was injured.

He was also reportedly one of the men wanted and taken into police custody along with Stephen 'Die' Stubbs in June last year, after the shooting at the Ballers nightclub in May.

Its a pity that so many of our young men choose to live a life of complete violence, nothing seems to deter them from this life, what I am afraid of is the innocent by stander who gets caught in the crossfire, what the lawmakers of this country need to do 10 years mandatory sentence for the possession of an unlicensed firearm, lets hang the murderers, flog the rapist and throw away the key on armed robbers.

The crime monsters that overshadow the Bahamas have taken many shots to the body. The wounds to the body, apparently, were ineffective. So now shots are being fired at the head at point blank range. Will this cause the crime monsters to die off, crawl back into their hiding places or become more bold and voilent and ferocious in their attacks on each other and society?

The good thing is that these new gang related killings will not affect the crime stats as under the new reporting system this type of crime is listed under a different catogery.
