We have become so advanced that we have moved away from the basics. Every now and again it is good to revisit the way we started. A few weeks ago while I was at work, a gentleman came into the place where I am employed and made a very important point.
He was talking about how we rely on our minds to remember everything, when we should help ourselves by writing things down so we don’t miss anything. I can testify to the fact that I rely on my brain when I know that I should be writing things down. Writing things down is an assistance, it helps us to remember the list for going to the store and what errands to run on a day off.
It is the same way we can have a check list for our lives. The reference we use to check our lives is the bible. What are the things that we check with the word of God? We check our character with the fruits of the spirit. We check the way we pray, without ceasing the bible says. We check our love for one another because the bible says that we are our brother’s keeper. We check how we treat people because we are to love our neighbours as we love ourselves. We check our behaviour towards our parents for the bible says we are to honour them and obey them.
Parents, you are to check how you raised your children; the word of God says they must be raised in the fear of the lord. Most importantly we check our obedience to God. Meaning we are to do whatever God tells us to do. A few things that we are to check our lives with the check list that is the word of God.
We cannot afford to think that because we have been saved for awhile that we don’t have to check with the word of God for guidance in our lives. The bible is our check list that we reference our lives with. It is the best check list that we could ever have. It assists us in living daily. Let us check our lives with a perfect check list.
