Two armed raids

FREEPORT - Grand Bahama police are investigating two separate armed robberies in the Freeport area.

 The first incident occurred in Heritage.

 Inspector Terecita Pinder reported that around 3:45am on Sunday police received information that a lone gunman clad in dark clothing, with a white scarf tied around his face, robbed occupants of $250 cash.

The culprit escaped on foot.

The second incident occurred in the Coral Reef Estates area.

 Inspector Pinder said sometime around 4:40am a man armed with a firearm entered a residence and demanded cash.

 The occupant was robbed of her handbag that contained $1,900 cash. The culprit escaped on foot.

 Police are aggressively investigating these matters. They are appealing to anyone with information who can assist them to call 350-3107/8, 911/919 or the nearest police station.

 Inspector Pinder said police are also appealing to members of the public to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity.

She said persons should also properly secure their homes and businesses.
