FREEPORT – An armed bandit is targeting homeowners in the Coral Reef Estates Subdivision, where two residences were robbed this week.
The latest incident occurred early Friday morning when a man entered a residence and robbed the occupants of cash and jewellery.
Inspector Terecita Pinder reported that sometime around 4.50am police received information of an armed robbery in the Coral Reef Estates area.
According to reports, a lone gunman entered a home around 4.30am and robbed the occupants of $700 cash and jewellery.
Inspector Pinder said the culprit was armed with a handgun and wearing dark clothing.
Earlier in the week, another resident of Coral Reef Estates was also robbed at gunpoint.
According to reports, the culprit who was also armed with a handgun and wearing dark clothing, entered a residence early Monday morning and robbed the occupant of a handbag, containing $1,900 cash. Police are investigating the incidents.
• Drug Enforcement Unit officers arrested a 30-year-old male resident of South Bahamia after marijuana plants were discovered at an apartment on Friday.
Inspector Terecita Pinder reported on Sunday that DEU officers executed a search warrant on an apartment in the South Maria Drive area.
They discovered five flower pots containing suspected marijuana plants. The plants ranged from 1-2 feet in height.
The occupant was arrested and taken into police custody.
