A 19-year-old youth, who was detained in hospital after a serious accident at Eleuthera last month, died in hospital yesterday.
Dequante Stubbs, of Gregory Town, was a front seat passenger in a Honda Accord, travelling north on Queen’s Highway, in the area of Rainbow Bay, when the driver lost control of the car and crashed into a casuarina tree. The accident occurred around 3:30am Saturday, March 16.
The teenager and the driver received serious injuries. They were taken to the local clinic for medical assistance and later airlifted to Nassau.
Stubbs died of his injuries around noon on Monday.
Two rear seat passengers, also involved in the accident, escaped unharmed. Active police investigations continue.
