With just two weeks left in the 2013 regular season, teams are fighting for playoff positions and the pennants. Here’s a recap of the pennant and playoff scenarios:
TEE BALL (5-6)
Even though the Raptors, Hot Fries and Avengers have clinched a spot in the playoffs, the pennant is yet to be decided. The pennant race will go down to the final week when the Raptors are slated to play the Avengers.
It appears that a 3-way tie for the pennant is possible and if not a 2-way tie. This would mean a playoff on Monday, May 13 to decide the pennant winner who will receive a bye into the championship series.
COACH PITCH (7-8)
The Angels have clinched the pennant and will receive a bye into the championship series.
The second place Athletics are scheduled to play the Diamondbacks in an elimination game. The winner will advance to play the Angels in the championship.
MINOR LEAGUE (9-10)
The Astros have clinched the pennant and will play the winner of the Tigers-Red Sox elimination game in the championship series.
MAJOR LEAGUE (11-12)
The Reds have clinched the pennant and the Indians have clinched a playoff spot. The Cardinals and Mets are battling for the final playoff spot which will probably be decided when they meet in Week 15.
The Cardinals or Mets will face the Indians in the elimination game and the winner will move on to face the pennant winning Reds in the championship series.
JUNIOR LEAGUE
The Phillies have clinched the pennant and will play the winner of the Dodgers-Rays elimination game in the championship series.
SENIOR LEAGUE
Both the Brewers and the Giants have clinched a spot in the playoffs, but the pennant has yet to be decided. The Blue Jays and Nationals are fighting for the final playoff spot which will probably not be decided until Week 15.
GIRLS SOFTBALL
The Oilers, Shippers and Players have all clinched a spot in the playoffs. The Oilers can clinch the pennant with a win on Saturday vs the Distributors. If the Oilers win, the Shippers will play the Players in the elimination game.
