A woman was murdered and a man left in critical condition yesterday after a car chase led to a deadly shooting.

The incident occurred at about 3:00pm at Pinecrest Drive and Poinciana Avenue in Southern Dreams Estates.

According to reports, a black coloured Honda was being pursued by a silver Honda with four persons inside.

When the black Honda crashed into a wall, the individuals in the silver Honda opened fire, hitting the man and the woman in the car, The Tribune understands.

After the silver Honda fled the scene, the driver of the black Honda was able to drive to the Southern Shores police station, despite suffering from a gunshot wound in his upper back. Emergency services were called for the injured man and woman, according to reports. However, the woman – whose name is thought to be Margo but whose surname is unknown – died on arrival to Accident and Emergency.

The woman’s death brings the country’s murder count to 36. It was the second murder in 24 hours.

A Southern Heights man identified by family members at the scene as Lavado Miller, was shot and killed outside his home late Sunday afternoon, after he was attacked by a gunman and chased.
