THE Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association has named its under-14 and under-16 teams to compete in the 2013 JITIC tourney in the Dominican Republic August 2-9.
JITIC is an annual tennis event for Central American and Caribbean countries featuring the best under-14 and under-16 players from participating countries.
Representing the girls’ under-14 team is Sierra Donaldson, Lauryn Daxon, Candice Mortier and Afrika Smith.
The boys’ under-14 team is led by O’Neal Mortimer, Bradley Fowler, Ahmad Thompson and Dante Armbrister.
Making up the girls’ under-16 team are Dominique Mortier, Shay-Tonya Missick, Jade Bastian and Savannah Roberts.
The boys’ under-16 team will be led by Junior Davis Cup players Shannon Francis, Justyn Thompson, Dylan Walker and Jason Fox.
The team coaches are Larikah Russell for the boys and girls under-14 teams and Ricardo Demeritte for the under-16 boys and girls teams.
JITIC competition is slated to begin on Saturday, August 3, with round robin play with the main draw on Monday, August 4. The teams are scheduled to return home on August 10.
