Paradise Plates, Hands For Hunger’s annual fundraising event has quickly become one of the island’s most anticipated events for foodies and supporters of good causes. Scheduled for September 28, the event is in its fifth consecutive year. It will showcase signature fare from more than 25 of the island’s most elite chefs, restaurateurs, vintners, brewers and beverage purveyors. The outstanding food and drink will be complemented by varied live and silent auction collections, and live entertainment.
The event will be limited to 500 guests, each of whom make Paradise Plates the exceptional night of culinary compassion that it is; all in support of Hands For Hunger’s mission to eliminate unnecessary hunger and significantly reduce food waste in our community while enjoying the night’s offerings of signature creations and culinary treasures. “It’s our fifth year and we’ve focused on making the event even more exciting,” said Anja Allen, fundraising chairwoman. “Guests can expect to see some of the participants they love return, including well known favourites from Nobu, Luciano’s of Chicago, Young’s Champagne, Van Breugel’s, Old Fort Bay Club, Sands Beer, Seafire Steakhouse, Le Petit Gourmet, Mendoza & Noble Wines, Italian Dolce, Virgil’s Real Barbecue, and Graycliff Chocolatier. We’re also thrilled to be adding several new featured offerings from John Watling’s Distillery, Athena Caf, and Pinnacle Vodka. This year, attendees can expect a more interactive dcor and venue setting, a varied silent and live auction collection of items including amazing vacation packages and local experiences, and our best line up of live entertainment yet.”
Abigail Asgaralli, Hands For Hunger executive director said: “Paradise Plates is a wonderful celebration of all of our valued stakeholders- our donors, volunteers, recipient agencies, sponsors and key supporters and the impact that they make on chronic hunger and food insecurity in the Bahamas. This is an opportunity for Hands For Hunger to share its vision of a Bahamas where everyone has access to three, nutritious, fortifying meals each day and no one goes hungry.”
One hundred percent of all ticket sales and auction proceeds raised go directly to Hands For Hunger’s efforts to eliminate unnecessary hunger and food insecurity throughout New Providence through its food rescue program, educational publications and research initiatives.
Since 2008, Hands For Hunger has provided over 500,000 meals to members of the New Providence community facing hunger and food insecurity through a food rescue program that currently serves thirteen recipient agencies.
Tickets now available for $150 and can be purchased online: www.handsforhunger.org or reserved by calling the Hands For Hunger office: 327-1660.
