Tribune heads to Moscow for World Athletics Championships

JOIN The Tribune and Team Bahamas as our athletes go for gold at the World Athletics Championships over the next two weeks.

Senior Sports Reporter Brent Stubbs is in Moscow, ready to provide unrivalled coverage of the heartache and the glory.

The 14th IAAF World Athletics Championships are being held at the Luzhniki Stadium from this Saturday to August 18.

Bahamian stars are set to be off and running from day one, with Bianca Stuart in the Long Jump on Saturday; Chris Brown, Ramon Miller and LaToy Williams possibly running the 400m on Sunday and Sheniqua Ferguson possibly in the 100m on Sunday.

For timings, Moscow is eight hours ahead of The Bahamas - the first event for one of our athletes, qualification for the Women’s Long Jump is at 11.20am, our time, on Saturday.

Jamaican sprint king Usain Bolt has already said he is planning on delivering something special in Moscow. The Men’s 100m final is at 1.50pm, our time, on Sunday.
