A YOUNG man died after being thrown from a vehicle in a traffic accident early yesterday morning.

It happened shortly after midnight.

According to reports, a white BMW was travelling west on West Bay Street when it collided with a blue Nissan Maxima heading east around Sandyport.

The male passenger of the Maxima was thrown the vehicle and died on the scene.

Both drivers were taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

• Police also reported that a 21-year-old man is in custody and being questioned in connection with a rape.

The incident happened on Sunday.

According to reports, an 18-year-old woman was sitting in a vehicle parked in front of a West Bay Street club, when a man she knows sexually assaulted her.
