POLICE are asking for the public’s help in solving the country’s fourth murder in four days.

The murder of a 17-year-old boy comes less than 48 hours after two men were found dead in two separate incidents and another man was shot to death at a popular local hangout.

The latest incident happened around 12:20am Monday.

According to reports, the teen boy was at a female friend’s house on White’s Road off Kemp Road when a blue or grey Honda Accord drove by. The occupants fired several shots. The victim was hit three times in the chest. He died on the scene.

Police have not yet identified the victim, but sources say he is 17-year-old Rodero Munnings of St James Road.

The Tribune understands Rodero was the nephew of murder victim 31-year-old Omar Davis.

Davis was shot in the head and upper body by unknown persons who opened fire on him at his home on Abraham Street.

He was wearing an ankle bracelet at the time of his death.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Anthony Ferguson said police have no one in custody in connection with this murder or any of the other weekend murders.

He said the key to solving these homicides is help from the public.

“We are continuing our investigations into all of these matters and we are dealing with them on a case by case basis. At this point we do not see any correlation between the homicides,” he said.

“What we really want is help from the public. All of these murders took place in New Providence and we are certain in some of these cases persons saw what happened. Well, we are asking for those persons to come forward, to come and sit down and talk to us anonymously. Bahamians have an obligation incumbent upon them to work with police and provide information concerning any crime. This is the only way we can prevent crimes from happening.”

Police are also investigating the death of a man early Sunday Monday.

It happened around 6:50am.

Police say they received a report about a man being found dead in the area of a park located on Flint Street. When they arrived at the park, they found the lifeless body of a man with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they are not certain of the circumstances surrounding the man’s death or how long he was in the park.
Sources close to the matter say the man was well known to police.

A few hours earlier, around 10:30 Saturday night police discovered another man who was shot to death.
Police say they received a report of a man found dead at his residence on Ludlow Street. When they arrived they found the lifeless body of a man who had been shot in his chest.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.

The first weekend murder happened on Friday.
Police say the victim with two other men were at Potters Cay Dock when they were shot.

They were taken to hospital where one man died shortly after arrival and two others, ages 24 and 49, are listed in serious condition.

Police have not yet identified the victim, but The Tribune understands he is 21-year-old Omar Moxey also known as “Oldz.”

Police say they are uncertain of the circumstances surrounding these murders, but are urging any member of the public who might know something that could assist them in their investigations to contact them at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS.
