ACTIVIST Rodney Moncur claimed today his court case was a showing of 'gangsterism' after it was adjourned because of a third non-appearance by its chief investigator.
Moncur's case is a preliminary inquiry into a grossly indecent picture posting allegation. He claimed the case was a showing of 'gangsterism' and there was a deliberate attempt by the investigator not to show in court.
The police prosecutor had told magistrate Constance Delancey that Inspector Mark Barett had been stuck in Canada due to bad weather and would not be in the country until 1pm today.
The Crown was seeking an adjournment to a week later.
However, Moncur submitted to the court that Mr Barrett could come to court for 3pm.
He claimed the investigator didn't have to go to Canada knowing there was a live case before the courts and his non appearance had 'demonstrated utter contempt' for the court.
Magistrate Delancey accepted the prosecution's explanation and adjourned the case to October 4.
