PM holds talks with Haitian president during South Africa flight

PRIME Minister Perry Christie held bilateral talks with the President of Haiti Michel Martelly and the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Kamla Persad Bissessar during their flight to Johannesburg, South Africa.

Mr Christie is part of a delegation of CARICOM leaders that has flown into South Africa to view the body of the former South African President Nelson Mandela who died on December 5.

Mr Mandela’s body will lay in state at the Union Buildings, the administrative headquarters of the South African government today.

While in South Africa, Prime Minister Christie will be hosted to a dinner with the Bahamians living in Johannesburg.

During his flight to South Africa, Mr Christie took time to discuss migration issues with President Martelly and Prime Minister Bissessar.

He also discussed the possibility of co-operation between Trinidad and Tobago’s Caribbean Airlines and the Bahamas’ national flag carrier, Bahamasair.

The Prime Minister returns to the Bahamas on Thursday.

This man sickens my soul. Instead of spending all of this money making these little trips how about the government do something about this horrible court system we have? How about we build a bigger (not necessarily better) prison so that we don't have an issue with overcrowding where we have to have murderers out on bail?

What the hell is this country doing?! The government is worthless, the criminals are taking over and the international community is watching as we slowly but surely self-destruct.
