A YEAR–old boy was airlifted to Nassau yesterday afternoon when doctors in Abaco discovered “visible bruises” all over his body.
According to Superintendent Noel Curry, Officer in Charge of the Abaco District, the baby was taken to the Marsh Harbour Clinic by his mother around 8:45pm Monday.
His injuries, however, were so severe he was airlifted to the Princess Margaret Hospital where he is listed in serious condition.
“The mother took the infant to the clinic after she saw the bruises all over his body. She told us that the child was left alone with the boyfriend while she was at work. But we are investigating to see if anyone else was at home,” Supt Curry said.
“The doctors are doing their investigations to let us know if it was an accident or if the injuries were inflicted by a human. We have no one in custody at this time, but we know who we are looking for.”
Investigations are continuing.
