The evidence that the country is in a crime crisis is there for everybody too see, business persons, get your protection,it isn't worth dying for couple of dollars, these guys killing you whether you give it to them or not, sounds like this poor guy didn't have a chance.it is obvious the criminals have no respect for law and order when they can shoot a man in broad daylight ,the PM could bullskate around all he wants, this country is in a tailspin, ain long before we hit the ground.

Surely the stretch of road from town east towards the bridge is East Bay Street...until it turns into Eastern Road I think at Village Road? West Bay St. from the Hilton westbound?

Shouldn't Perry Christie feel some obligation to release his "solution for the crime problem" rather than keeping it in his head?
Thinker 10 years, 11 months ago
He's got some fantastic solutions for everything, that man. (Jokes) Can someone explain to me why it's still OK to elect the same PM over and over?

Everyone wants to put political parties to blame. Truth is PLP and FNM are the same....A bunch of lying politicians. Yet they keep getting voted back into office. So how can we in this lifetime, expect our country to get out of debt or control crime?
ThisIsOurs 10 years, 11 months ago
I am not blaming the PLP for the crime problem and neither did I blame the FNM for the crime problem. I am blaming the PLP for promoting a bunch of stupid political propaganda all of which is getting in the way of real thought towards a solution to the problem. UR 2.0 what a colossal waste of money.

Which local bank is this that would accept a deposit from a business that has signaled over and over again that they are conducting illegal gambling operations? How hard could the bank have worked to investigate the source of funds? Has the bank representatives not read news articles referring to Leslie Miller playing numbers at these webshops, or the PM stating that the operations need to be made legal before they are regularized or the report of angry customers after the "winning numbers" were changed? Which bank is this that is completely in violation of the local Financial transactions and AML regulations? Central Bank any comment?

THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM IS MAKING MOCKERY OF THE BAHAMIAN PEOPLE AND DENYING THEM A RIGHT TO LIVE IN A CRIME FREE SOCIETY. A society free of crime and violence. Our criminal justice is saying to criminals: If you kill someone in this country chances are you will not get caught. If you get caught, chances are you will not get the death penalty. If you get the death penalty, you WILL NOT be put to death ever, ever! The message is also clear that when you commit serious crimes, including. cold blooded murder, you will be granted bail. The person accused of killing a young male in front of a fast food outlet on Blue Hill road just this summer is already out on bail. Wish him Merry Christmas when you seem, because he sure seems happy to be free and now a hero. A hero criminal, advanced from a career of shop breaking to a cold blooded murderer. Once you get bail, this leaves you free to tamper with and intimidate witnesses. Have them killed even. Once you do this, your case will appear weak and you will, most likely go free. Welcome to the criminal justice system in the Bahamas. There is more justice for criminals than for anyone else in our country, including the DPM.

And who is responsible for the non-performance of the criminal justice system? We ALL are because we keep on voting for the same old failed politicians. To solve this problem Bahamians are going to have to reject the old guard and elect new young leaders who are not shackled by party affiliation.

Just waiting for a tourist to get shot dead, and then you will see real hard times and Bahamians eating coconuts and pigeons.

We all play a role in the increase and decrease of crime. The government nor its arm forces can do it all. It takes every Bahamian to work together to solve this problem. If we know of any one who is indulging in criminal activity report them. If your children coming home with items which you didn't buy it deal with them. But when you wanna point fingers at the government that shows you do not wanna play your role in the fight against crime. So for 2014 all Bahamians should work together and squash all illegal and social ill that plague this country. If not we will be second class citizens in our our country.
