POLICE discovered human remains in Central Andros this weekend.
The remains, which were found in bushes on Saturday, were sent to Nassau. A team of investigators are in Andros to assist with investigations.
The discovery comes as police continue their search for an Immigration Officer and his girlfriend, both of whom have been missing for more than a week.
Last week, police released four people, who were being questioned in connection with the disappearance of Sean Gardiner, 49, and Tishka Braynen, 28, in Andros.
Braynen, of Cargill Creek, and Gardiner who lived in Love Hill, both in Central Andros, were reported missing around 1:45pm last Sunday.
Mr Gardiner, an Immigration officer, was recently assigned to the island by his Department in Nassau.
Gardiner’s government issued vehicle, The Tribune understands, was cleaned and left little evidence or leads to be found when authorities made the discovery.
Police also found a bullet in the washing machine of Gardiner’s home, where Braynen’s car was parked.
Since then, psychologist Dr David Allen went to Central Andros to meet with civic leaders and family members affected by the still unsolved case of the missing couple.
Central Andros administrator Cleola Pinder, invited Dr Allen, director of “The Family: People Helping People”, Project and members Harold Sweeting and Patrice Rose, to spearhead a day of meetings as the community works to cope with their fears.
Dr Allen said his team came to “stand with them in the pain” and arrange for a free and confidential “Family” group therapy initiative to be established on the island.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 919, 328-TIPS or 1-242-300-8476 in the Family Islands.

Should 109 and 110. This morning's 7am news said we were at 107, and added a comment that we were 4 short of last year's murder count of 111. The guy got shot by the bridge, that was 108 and now two more...this is sad indeed. And all this happened with UR 2.0 working well according to BJ and the crew.

Shouldn't it be 112 counting the lady that got stabbed out west on Sunday?
