MEMBERS of the Antique Auto Cub of the Bahamas have started making plans for the Club’s 26th annual Antique Auto Show and Cook-out.
The show, which has become a local favourite, will again be held at Arawak Cay on Saturday, March 23, from noon to 6pm.
Last year’s show featured around 60 local cars and trucks. The club is hoping to exceed that amount in 2013 and is calling on members of the public who own vintage cars, but are not already members of the club, to participate in the show.
The entry fee for cars being judged remains at $35.
Judging will be carried out in eight different categories for trophies in first, second and third positions. The popular People’s Choice, where visitors to the show determine the winners, and has cash prizes as well as trophies, of course, remains as a standard of the Show.
Funds are raised primarily through the sale of steak and chicken dinners at $10.
Tickets are available from any club member. Advance purchase allows free entry to the show.
All funds raised continue to be donated to a charity or organisation benefiting children.
Last year the recipient was the Elizabeth Estates Children’s Home.
There will be two beneficiaries for the 2013 Show, the names of which will be announced shortly, the club said.
