THE promoters who brought Bahamians the final concert of 2012 did exactly what they said they were going to do - deliver international rap sensation Rick Ross to the Bahamas.

After the show, Ross took to his Twitter account and tweeted: “Nassau know how to Treat a #BOSS tonight was one of those nights!! Shout out to all the sexy ladies ready to cook me Boil FishnGrits with jonniecake #luv.”

Photos of Rick Ross’s arrival on Saturday made their rounds on social media, gearing Bahamians up for the big performance.

“It was about to go down,” one fan told Tribune Entertainment.

The original Rick Ross concert was cancelled in October due to Hurricane Sandy.

Also in town to co-host the event alongside Special K of 100 Jamz was VH1’s Love and Hip Hop Star, Joseline Hernandez. International performers Young Gunz, as well as local acts M Deez and Bahama Boyz were also included in the lineup.

Event organiser Patricia Chatti said attendees sang and danced along with the man known as “The Boss,” who performed most of his songs.

“It was surprising because most of the patrons were women. I don’t know if a lot of people probably were trying to come out from the other events that didn’t happen, but they showed up. Maybe people turned out because they thought this would be the biggest event to happen,” said Ms Chatti.

Speaking about co-host, Joseline Hernandez, Ms Chatti said she worked well with Special K on stage.

“They complemented each other,” she said.

Ms Chatti said Rick Ross enjoyed his time in the Bahamas, and took time during the concert to encourage Bahamians to live in peace.

“He said he loves the Bahamas and he mentioned it at the concert. He sent several shout outs to the Haitian community as well. He sent a message to people talking about haters and being against violence. He told people to not be ashamed to progress,” said Ms Chatti.

In a previous interview with Tribune Entertainment, event organiser Lisa Tottle said Ross was easy to work with.

She said he did not have any crazy demands, and it was a surprise to her because he’s one of the “hottest” rappers right now.

Ms Tottle said all he wanted was “chicken wings.”
