It happened at midnight.

According to reports, the two victims were sitting on the side of a home at Union Village Road, when they were approached by a man armed with a handgun.
The suspect shot both men several times before fleeing the area on foot.
One man died on the scene, the other was taken to hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Police have not officially identified the victims, but sources say one of the men is 19-year-old Devan Lloyd of Union Village Road.

The murder count for the first five days of the new year is two. Last year the country recorded 110 murders.

WHAT IS THE "DE FACTO" PENALTY FOR MURDER IN THIS COUNTRY?
What does GOD say about murderers? pesrons who commit criminal homicide? They should be put to death and sent back to the Creator where they will have to face his justice and come face to face with the person or persons who they killed. Furthermore they will be taken out of society where they will not have th opportunity to KILL again or more importantly create offspring who are aso murderers

Next month (MAY) will mark 3 years that the PLP government has been in power. Since they were elected some 350 persons have been murdered in this country. And if things remain the same, at least another 250 Bahamians will not be around in 2017 to vote come Election Day because they too, would have been murdered, most of them in cold blood. Many of them in the prime of their lives. Claimed by death most likely from assassins bullets (plural)even before they experienced life. What does this say about our country and our people? What does this say about a government whose campaign promise was to stop the murder and the mayhem in this land. "If my people who are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray, then shall I hear from heaven and heal their land." After carnival how about a week of prayer and worship...in sincerity
